Mig33, the developer of
a mobile social network with 9 million users, announced on Tuesday that it has
raised a $13.5 million second round of financing, led by DCM.
Previous
investors Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Technology Venture Partners
also participated.
Burlingame, Calif.-based
Mig33 claims that its more than 9 million users in 200 countries use the service
to send more than 45 million messages to one another each day, and share more
than a million pictures a month.
The company offers "a mix of free and
inexpensive" services, including VoIP calls, instant messaging, e-mail,
text messaging, picture sharing and social networking.
Mig33 will use the new
funds to continue expansion both in the U.S. and abroad.
