Jajah long-distance phone service says it will sign a million clients by year end
Jajah Inc., an ambitious European startup that slashes the cost of long-distance mobile telephone calls, is set to sign up one million customers this year, one of the company's co-founders said yesterday.
"We are confident that we will have better than one million paying customers by the end of year," Jajah co-founder Daniel Mattes said. "It is already close to a million," he said of the number of customers.
Jajah allows consumers to place international or long-distance telephone calls -- for free, or at a fraction of conventional prices -- on existing mobile or land-line phones, using the Internet to bypass carrier toll charges.
